Hi, I’m Silvia, living in Cologne / Germany with my family, my dogs, and — depending on the day — slightly too many half-finished creative ideas.
I have been painting since my teenage years and have always needed some kind of creative outlet. Over the years, that creativity found its way into web design, children’s furniture design, and probably a few other projects that started with the innocent thought: “How hard can it be?”
Then came a long painting break while my children were small, because apparently tiny humans require quite a lot of time, energy, and snacks
A few years ago, a friend introduced me to miniature painting — and that was it. One tiny painted figure later, I had discovered a new passion. That was about three years ago, and since then I have been trying to find time for it somewhere between a full-time job, raising children, family life, dogs, and all the perfectly normal chaos that everyday life likes to bring.

The garage has officially been claimed as the 3D printer room. My son’s former bedroom, after he moved out, has been transformed into my new painting refuge. A perfectly reasonable development, I think.
On this blog, I’ll take you along on my sometimes desperate attempts to stop being my own worst enemy as a perfectionist. I’ll share my efforts to turn failures into slightly smaller failures, and the ongoing realisation that painting a miniature well takes considerably longer than one YouTube video makes it look.
There will be painted figures, printing adventures, small anecdotes, stories, travels, creative detours, and whatever else happens along the way.
